Everything (by Daniel Ladinsky)

Running
Through the streets
Screaming,
Throwing rocks through windows,
Using my own head to ring
Great bells,
Pulling out my hair,
Tearing off my clothes,
Tying everything I own
To a stick,
And setting it on
Fire.
What else can Hafiz do tonight
To celebrate the madness,
The joy,
Of seeing God
Everywhere!
Reflection:
First ofall the reason i chose this poem is because Daniel ladinsky is one of my favorite poets. As a poet he has written some of my favorite poems, for example "I have learned a lot" and this one. Second, the meaning of this poem struck me. After reading this poem, I started wondering what I would do if I have the opportunity to actually see God. I don't think I will act that crazy, but who knows?

I'm glad you like Robert Frost, he is a great poet, but I believe this poem is one that was analyzed in class last year (during your freshman year) and you are not to duplicate poems from last year.
